VPN means Virtual Private Network. It is a way of setting up secure internet communications with the HeroEngine servers. It is not necessary for all licensees. The following page gives instructions on how to setup a VPN for various operating systems, plus some basic troubleshooting measures. If you still have trouble after working through this page, please talk to your HeroEngine representative.

For All Windows Versions

Do not forget to double click on the openvpn.reg file that came with your VPN keys, to install the edit for the VPN priority. If this step is omitted you may sporadically lose your connection to HeroBlade/Your World.

Troubleshooting

route-delay 2

Save the file and try again.

  1. Log onto the computer as administrator.
  2. If you've already installed OpenVPN-GUI, completely uninstall OpenVPN-GUI (including the TAP32 adapter).
  3. Install OpenVPN-GUI.
  4. Test (connect).
  5. Log in as the 'regular user'.
  6. Test again.
