He server.png Documentation on this page is intended for customers of HeroEngine managing their own server(s).

There are two sides to setting up for a support call: the Support side, and the Other side.

Setting Up Support

Note: If there is a firewall or NAT router at your gateway to the Internet, make sure to forward port 5500 to your computer, or that the proper holes are in the firewall.

  1. Download the VNC package for Windows, if not already installed.
  2. Open up the VNC Viewer in "Listen Mode".
    • (Start, Programs, TightVNC or UltraVNC, Viewer, Run Viewer (Listen Mode)
  3. Verify the viewer is running. The Notifications (System Tray) will have an icon confirming that the viewed is present.

Setting Up the Other side

  1. Download the VNC package for Windows, if not already installed.
  2. Once VNC is installed, start the TightVNC Server.
  3. Verify the server is running. The Notifications (System Tray) will have an icon confirming that the viewed is present.
  4. Right click on the icon and choose "Add New Client"
  5. In the box that comes up have them type in the support IP address or hostname.
  6. The other side's window will then appear on your screen.
