Transition Topology

A specially constructed art asset or heightmap constructed to mask the deactivation of a source area and activation of the destination area in a seamless transition between areas.

When using a heightmaps as the transition topology it is important to understand that texturing, dynamic details, vector painting are channel based. The channels are defined on a per area basis and will only be the same if you use a system like the Style Sets to synchronize the channel definition between the areas.
