Using Non-Hero Materials

In certain circumstances, you can get away with using a basic Blinn material instead of the more complex Hero Material. If you don't need to change the shader, custom lighting settings, polygon attributes, or utilize animated uv's, you can use the Blinn material so long as you follow the guides below. Using the Blinn material will cause HeroEngine to assume that a gray scale specular map is included in the alpha channel of the normal map and default behavior on all other options.
