Building the Player Client

He server.png Documentation on this page is intended for customers of HeroEngine managing their own server(s).

This is for full and source licensees, with instructions on how to compile and run the "non-editing", or player client (as opposed to HeroBlade, the editing client).

  1. Connect to the Perforce depot and sync to the latest version
  2. Run Visual Studio 2013 with latest update
  3. Open the player_client solution located in the player_client directory
  4. Rebuild the solution
  5. Explore to the player_client/RunWin32 directory
  6. Edit the game.cfg file, setting the values appropriate to your environment
  7. Run the player_client.exe file
